WHY

Being a playwright in Malta is a unique experience to be envied... or not.

The pages of this website span some thirty years of writing experience - a dramatic writing saga not without its few glory days, the more frequent inevitable disappointments and the downright moments of black despair.

And yet one perseveres; the reasons being the written plays as documented in this website. Which is why eventually the full scripts of this lifetime's opus will be published here in their entirety. Don't ask me why. I'd rather you didn't. . I am still dumbfounded whenever I am asked "Why do you publish your plays?"
The answer that readily comes to mind usually is "Because I have to!"
But my invariable perplexity endures." Why does one have to even ask this question in the first place?" Especially when it come precisely from people who themselves are writers of some renown.

The language question: Typical of Maltese culture, the use of language follows no specific preordained choice.

This website is therefore interspersed with mostly Maltese text and an indiscriminate peppering of English.

It is possible that in the future a more orderly presentation might be attempted. But not very likely. Please bear with us.
